Relish Tray in "Opera" pattern with "AFORE" on the midshipman's cap. Adams & Company, 1880-1885, l. 28.7 cm (89.4.145, gift of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Smeltzer). Were it not for the shell ornaments on the ends of this piece, which really appear to be afterthoughts, there would be no resemblance to the other pieces in the "Opera" set.  The floral band is similar to that on "Wildflower", another Adams pattern.
